公司願景遠比商業模式重要

在不景氣的時候,許多公司被迫深入檢討原來的營運模式。另外一方面,許多公司在面對投資方的時候,也是費盡心力來調整他們的商業模式,以便取悅投資方喜歡的模式。
然而,每個公司的發展,都有其遠大的理想。在事業願景與商業模式之間,如何取捨?
以下,是我的想法:
  1. 再次仔細思考您公司的願景是什麼?請暫時將營運收入、費用、利潤、成長率等Excel上的數據擱在一邊。想想看你所經營的是什麼樣的公司?你要服務社麼樣的客戶?你想要帶給客戶什麼利益?很多時候,公司的願景的價值遠高於公司的產品。
  2. 不要將商業模式混淆進來。我不是說漂亮的商業模式不重要,但是絕對不是必要的。如果你的客戶正好需要你以原來的模式來服務他,而你也還能夠獲利存活,這起碼是你能夠依循的模式,沒有絕對必要去改變它。
  3. 關注在產品/服務品質的提升。down sizing的時候,多數倒下去的公司,是原來追求銷量成長的公司,而能夠存活下來的公司,反而是關注在產品/服務品質的公司。
最後,要記住,這是你的公司,而不是投資方的公司。他喜歡的模式是為了他的利益,而不是你的利益。你必須先關注自己公司的生存模式,才能追求未來的成長。

Corporate vision is more important than business model
During the downturn, many companies were forced to review their business models in depth. On the other hand, many companies also try their best to adjust their business model when facing investors, in order to please the model that investors like.
However, the development of every company has its great ideals. How to choose between career vision and business model?
Here are my thoughts:
  1. Think again about your company's vision. Please put aside the data on Excel such as operating income, expenses, profits and growth rate for the time being. Think about what kind of company you run? What kind of customers do you want to serve? What benefits do you want to bring to your customers? In many cases, the value of a company's vision is much higher than that of its products.
  2. Don't confuse business models. I'm not saying that a good business model is not important, but it's absolutely not necessary. If your customer just needs you to serve him in the original mode, and you can still make a profit and survive, this is at least the mode you can follow, there is no absolute need to change it.
  3. Focus on the improvement of product/service quality. In down sizing, most of the companies that went down were those that sought growth in sales, while those that survived were those that focused on product/service quality.
Finally, remember that this is your company, not the investor's company. He likes the model for his benefit, not for yours. You have to focus on your company's survival model before you can pursue future growth.
